Great products don’t always win.
Some of the best products in DentalTech never become market leaders.
Not because the technology isn't good enough, but because great products don't automatically create market success.
Over the years, we've seen many companies invest enormous amounts of time and resources into developing innovative solutions. Clinical validation is strong, the product performs as expected and the team is convinced they've built something exceptional, but then the launch falls short of expectations.
In many cases, the reason isn't the product itself. It's everything around it:
Is the value proposition clear enough for each target audience?
Do clinicians immediately understand how the solution fits into their daily workflow?
Does the sales team communicate outcomes instead of features?
Is there enough education to build confidence before adoption?
And are marketing, sales, clinical teams and product management working towards the same objective?
Commercial success doesn't happen because a product exists. It happens when people understand its value, trust it and are able to integrate it into their everyday practice. The companies that consistently outperform the market are rarely those with the longest feature lists. They are the ones that align innovation with strategy, communication, education and execution.
Technology may open the door, but adoption is what drives sustainable growth.
What do you think is the biggest reason why innovative DentalTech products struggle to gain traction in the market?
